Biscuits & Books

This year’s Biscuits & Books event will not be one to miss! In collaboration with Purdue Tea Club, we will be hosting a regency-themed book event. This event is a great way to make new friends, relax, and have fun!

There will be free books, fresh tea, biscuits, diamond paintings, games, and more! These will be in limited quantities and will be given out on a first-come-first-serve basis.

This event is free and open to everyone— feel free to bring friends! The Biscuits & Books event will be on Friday, April 10th from 7-9 pm at WALC 1018. This year MEMBERS get early access to books at 6:45pm.

The books we will be giving out are:

  • The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn
Anthony Bridgerton never intended to marry for love, only for duty. But when he sets his sights on the season’s most eligible debutante, he finds himself constantly challenged by her sharp-witted sister, Kate Sheffield. As their rivalry turns into undeniable chemistry, Anthony must confront the one thing he swore to avoid which is falling in love. A witty enemies-to-lovers romance set in Regency London.

  • Anatomy: A Love Story by Dana Schwartz
In 1817 Edinburgh, Hazel Sinnett dreams of becoming a surgeon despite being barred from medical school. When she teams up with Jack Currer, a resurrection man who supplies bodies for study, they uncover dangerous secrets beneath the city. A dark and compelling story of ambition, defiance, and unlikely partnership.

  • Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Elizabeth Bennet navigates society’s pressure to marry while clashing with the proud and mysterious Mr. Darcy. As misunderstandings and first impressions fade, both must confront their own pride and prejudice. A witty and timeless story of love, growth, and second chances.

  • Bringing Down the Duke by Evie Dunmore
Annabelle Archer is one of the first women at Oxford, tasked with supporting the suffrage movement. Her target is the powerful Duke of Montgomery, a man who opposes everything she stands for. As rivalry turns into attraction, both must choose between duty and desire. A bold and romantic story of ambition, power, and love.

  • Sense & Sensibility by Jane Austen
After their father’s death, sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood must navigate love and society in Regency England. One values reason, the other follows her heart. A timeless story of romance and growth.

  • Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff share a powerful but destructive love. When Catherine chooses status over him, it leads to years of heartbreak and revenge. A dark story of passion, obsession, and the consequences of love.

  • Reputation by Lex Croucher
Georgiana Ellers is drawn into the glamorous world of a wealthy and reckless social circle. As she tries to fit in, she risks losing herself in their wild parties and dangerous secrets. A sharp and entertaining story of friendship, reputation, and the cost of belonging.

  • The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer
In 1946, writer Juliet Ashton exchanges letters with residents of Guernsey about a book club formed during the German occupation. Drawn to their stories, she travels to the island and forms unexpected connections. A warm story of love, resilience, and literature.

  • A Most Agreeable Murder by Julia Seales
Beatrice Steele secretly dreams of solving murders in a society obsessed with etiquette. When a man is killed at a ball, she finally gets the chance to prove herself. A witty and charming mix of mystery, satire, and self-discovery.
